Academics Overview

The Department of Labor Studies offers a Bachelor degree, an Associate degree, and a Certificate. A Minor in Labor Studies is also available. Click on your degree of interest under the Admission tab to the left, and you will find the credit hour requirements for each of the degrees listed, including the General Education requirements, and the required areas of learning for each. You will also find the credit hour requirements for the Minor. We have Labor Studies degree granting programs on the following IU campuses: Indianapolis, Bloomington, Fort Wayne, South Bend, and Northwest. All Labor Studies courses are available online and offered as a full semester course and/or as compressed (8 weeks) courses. There are no prerequisites or co-requisites for the Labor Studies courses. Depending on the IU campus, there is a limited number of face-to-face courses. Course selection is at the discretion of the student; however, we offer full time advising to assist via the toll-free number listed above.
