2012 DANESH Institute Annual Conference Call for Proposals

SECOND GENERATION IRANIAN-AMERICANS AND OTHER IMMIGRANTS: EXPERIENCE, EXPECTATIONS, AND CHALLENGES

This year's DANESH Institute conference will be held in cooperation with the Middle Eastern Studies of St. Xavier University in Chicago. The conference is to focus on the experience of second generation Iranian-Americans as well as other immigrants. As such, this conference is to explore expectations and challenges confronting this generation at home emphasizing Iranian culture and outside of home representing American culture. In addition, the conference is intended to make recommendations for dealing with issues identified.

In relation to the above theme, the Conference Planning Committee invites submission of proposals for papers and roundtables. Papers include empirical or conceptual studies. Roundtables are subjects for panel discussions.

Each proposal should include the following information:

1. Name, institutional affiliation, address, e-mail, and phone number(s) for each presenter;
2. Title of the paper or roundtable (12 word maximum);
3. An abstract of the proposal.
