The delegation spent an hour asking Davis and Walker questions about labor issues in the United States. After the meeting, Davis said he expects the delegation was looking for models involving workers that might be useful to address labor issues in China.
The delegation made up of labor leaders, government officials and academics, is interested in examining the impact of the American Labor movement on U.S. foreign, domestic and international economic policies. The group also wanted to gain a better understanding of the origins, history, operation and role of organized labor in American society and the development of workers’ rights.
